Special Investigation Team (SIT) constituted by Haryana Home Minister Anil Vij according to section 2(S) CRPC 1973 comprising of six IPS officers Nazneen Bhasin, Himanshu Garg, Lokender Singh, Shashank Sawan and Mohit Handa led by Bharti Arora IGP Karnal range started investigation during raids arrested 11 immigration agents in Haryana in a couple of days and sent them behind bars against as many as 139 FIRs registered against immigration agents at different police stations in the state allegedly cheated large number of youths in the state sending them to USA illegally on work permits on the basis of fake documents after collecting amount worth over Rs 3 crore and youths sent abroad were abandoned at the borders, caught by police as well as army in USA while crossing borders illegally, sent to jails, released after months and sent back to India due to spread of corona virus epidemic outbreak. Haryana police registered as many as 139 complaints in few days at different police station at Ambala, Karnal, Kaithal, Kurukshetra,Yamunanagar and Jind districts. During raids police arrested 11 immigration agents and recovered Rs 10.52 lakh and a car from them. Bharti Arora IGP told that search for the arrest of other immigration agents is going on and cheats will not be spared at any cost.
Anil Vij ordered stern action against such cheats involved in illegal immigration, attracting innocent youths with rosy dreams to earn dollars sitting in air conditioned offices and some of them were found influential persons including political leaders. Vij said that illegal immigration business in Haryana will be completely washed away for which a separate police station as well as court under the charge of a session judge will be set up with the permission of Punjab and Haryana High Court. He said, SIT has been asked to submit a action report after every two months.
According to SIT information, among those 11 immigration agents arrested by the police and sent behind bars so far include Jagtar alias Jaggi at Kaithal from whom police recovered Rs 10000 cash and a car, Som Nath at Ismailabad in Kurukshetra district from whom Rs 7.5 lakh cash was recovered, Raj Kumar alias Raju at Dhand in Kaithal district from whom Rs 1.37 lakh was recovered, Jagdish alias Jaggi at Sitamai in Karnal district from whom Rs 70000 recovered, Labh Singh alias Kaka at Patiala (Punjab) against a case registered at Baldev Nagar police station Ambala City, Police recovered amount worth Rs 85000 from seven immigration agents during raids and their arrest identified as Rajinder at Jundla, Deepak Narwal at Matloda, Anil alias Mahaveer at Madhuban (Karnal), Hardeep Singh at Kabulpur Kheda (Asandh), Rajinder at Asandh and Om Parkash at Israna.
