1116 criminals, drug smugglers arrested in a day in ‘Operation Aakraman’ in Haryana

Haryana police during fourth campaign in past sometime in ‘Operation Aakraman’ launched against criminals and drug smugglers in Haryana state on Sunday launched a drive by 1327 police teams comprising of 7109 police men all over in the state arrested 1116 criminals including drug smugglers and registered 573 cases in the state under NDPS Act,  Excise and Arms Act and recovered from them stocks of drugs, 50 illegal weapons and 25 cartridges. Addressing media persons at police headquarter Panchkula. Director General Police Haryana P.K. Aggarwal said the police recovered stocks of drug including 301 kg ganja, 159 gm heroine, 49 kg poppy husk, over 1 kg opium, 34 gm smack, 83 gm sulfa, 3 gm charas, 108 intoxicated tablets and intoxicated injections.

DGP told that police also arrested 12 most wanted criminals, three hard core criminals having reward for their arrest, 188 declared history sheeters, 15 bale jumpers and 288 anti-social elements from whom recovered two gold chains, 28 mobile phones, 38 stolen vehicles and Rs 3.80 cash. State Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB)  Chief in the state Shrikant Jaghav ADGP Ambala told that state government has set up 17 special units in the state at Ambala, Karnal, Kurukshetra, Rohtak, Gurugram , Faridabad, Palwal, Rewari, Hisar, Siesa, Fatehabad and Jind to control fast spreading smuggling and sale of drugs in the state. He said, there is a proposal to set up another five special units in remaining districts to bring awareness about ill-effect of drugs and wipe out from the state completely.

According to information, CM Flying Squad has also started action against liquor ‘Ahata’ and restaurants illegally serving liquor without having license from the state government. Information reveals, teams of CM Flying Squad in past couple of days conducted 32 raids at such ‘Ahata’ and restaurants, registered 24 FIRs in which 48 persons were arrested. Squad also seized 1600 intoxicated injections and sealed five medical stores at Faridabad alone. CM Flying Squad accompanied by Excise Department officials raided illegally running 32 ‘Ahata’ serving liquor in industrial town Faridabad and Bandhwadi in Gurugram district. CM Flying Squad also arrested owner of a illegal liquor ‘Ahata’ at Yamunanagar.
