14 proposed clusters to produce, electricity, fertilizer and fuel in Haryana

Haryana state government prepared a project for developing as many as 14 clusters in the state, but proposal for the same delayed due to spread of corona virus epidemic outbreak in the state. The proposal was to develop clusters to produce electricity from garbage at Faridabad, Sonepat, Rohtak and AmbalaThere is proposal for production of fertilizers and fuel from garbage at clusters to be developed at Panchkula, Rewari, Jind, Hisar, Fatehabad, Punhana, Dabwali Farukhnagar, Bhiwani and Yamunagar.The project will not only help to dispose of garbage collected from as many as 86 municipal corporations and municipal committees but also control pollution across the state.

Information also reveals, out of total quantity of nearly 5000 metric ton solid garbage collected in the state daily nearly 5653 ton garbage will be consumed in production of electricity and fertilizers everyday. Information also reveals that at present out of 5000 metric ton solid garbage collected daily only 17% garbage is processed and the remaining quantity of garbage is thrown in open at public paces, which not only adversely affect environments in the area but also pollute underground water.

Anil Vij Minister for Urban Local Body Haryana in the state told media persons that there is proposal to set up 14 clusters in the state for which tenders will be invited soon not only to get rid of pollution due to dumps of garage accumulating all around as well as earn revenue from the production of electricity and fertilizers. According to the project report, cluster at Faridabad will consume 1599 ton garbage collected from Faridabad and Gurugram daily to produce electricity. Sonepat cluster will consume 500 ton garbage daily collected from Panipat, Ganaur and Samalkha to produce electricity. Similarly, cluster at Rohtak will consume 532 ton garbage collected from Bahadurgarh, Gohana, JhajjarJulana, Kalanaur, Kharkhoda, Kundli and Sampla.

Accoeding to project report, Ambala cluster will consume 815 ton garbage daily collected from Karnal, Pehowa, Shahabad, Ismailabad, Chika, Kurukshetra, Nissing, Indri, Nilokheri, Gharaunda and Pundri to produce electricity. For the production of fertilizers cluster at Panchkula will consumer 200 ton garbage daily.  Proposed cluster at Rewari will consume 260 ton garbage, cluster at Jind will consume 330 ton garbage, cluster at Hisar will consume 325 ton garbage, cluster at Fatehabad will consume150 ton garbage, cluster at Punhana will consume 175 ton, cluster at Dabwali will consume 217 ton, cluster at Farukhnagar will consume 89 ton, cluster at Bhiwani will consume195 ton and cluster at Yamunanagar will consume 365 ton garbage to produce electricity and fertilizers.
