15% school children in Haryana suffer from mental tension

According to survey by doctors of State Institute of Mental Health conducted on nearly 3000 school children studying in 10 schools of 17 districts in Haryana state, it was observed that nearly 15% school children were suffering from mental tension. Similarly, according to World Health Organisation (WHO) report nearly 20 crore people in India are under the influence of mental tension as such every fifth person in the country suffers from depression and by the year 2030 the situation would further become critical when nearly 42.5% people in the country would face depression. According to a psychiatric research study report 13% minors between age group 13 to 15 are worst affected, whereas out of 84 youths between the age 16-18 one was found  suffering from heavy depression for one reason or the other

According to a research study by Mental Health Science Department PGI Rohtak, hundreds of patients suffering from mental tension visit hospital everyday having severe symptoms of this disease. Not only this, nearly 90% family members accompanying mental tension patients in hospitals are usually seen suffering from tension to some extent, of them24% are seen in the state of minor tension, 16% in the state of moderate tension, 6.6% in the state of serious tension and 13.14% in the state of extremely serious condition due to worry and nearly 10% are found having mild depression.

Information reveals, in present lifestyle the graph of patients suffering from mental tension is constantly rising having severe affects in winter season. State government Haryana has set up drug de-addiction centres in most of the districts to treat patients suffering from mental tension usually addicted to drugs and liquor. According to experts, nearly 80% people suffering from mild tension avoid to visit hospitals in initial stage. It is seen, in 7%% cases tension develops due to family reasons such as conflict between husband and wife, parents neglect towards children, unemployment among youths, living away from family and lack of control over desires.

Basically, there are 10 prime symptoms seen in case of a patient suffering from mental tension which include lack of sleep, indigestion, faulty blood circulation in the body, low or high blood pressure, tiredness, sadness, frequent irritating feelings, excessive anger, lack of self confidence and regular hair fall. A person suffering from mental tension should follow   precautions such as leave bed early in the morning, avoid over work, try to remain relaxed as much as possible, avoid taking drugs or liquor, avoid smoking,  daily exercise keeps mind relaxed, have food at regular time daily, consumption of green vegetables, milk and curd, and most important avoid family conflicts.
