1637 RC & DL files illegally approved behind closed doors during clerical staff strike  in Haryana

SDM Sonipat Amit Khokhar has started investigation as regard illegal approval of 1637 files related to automobile registration and driving license cases behind the closed doors in SDM office Sonipat during clerical staff strike in Haryana state when the concerned MRC Anil Malik also remained absent from the duty  due to strike for 48 days due to the strike. Mystery exists over how such a large number of files were approved behind the closed doors when the office was closed due to strike. Preliminary investigation reveals that agents were seen very active in the office during this period and the alleged accused clerk have been charging Rs 600 per case in alliance with the agents. When talked to the SDM, he admitted that 1637 files were found approved in-spite of the fact the office was closed due to the strike and during investigation code words were written on the files and stern action will be taken against the concerned clerk and others found involved in irregularities. He said that a detailed report has been forwarded to the Deputy Commissioner to take legal action against the accused.

According to SDM, during June till September huge number of applications exceeding 5000 cases seeking vehicle registration and driving license were gathered and were quickly disposed of after the stike was over, still leaving a large number of pending cases. Meanwhile, on October 5, 2023 CM Flying Squad team from Panchkula conducted a surprize raid and detected large number of irregularities with the involvement of brokers found active in SDM office during strike period with large number of irregularities and amount Rs 600 each case was illegally collected by MRC physically was not present in the office from the applicants through the brokers when files were approved behind the closed doors. Sources reveal that the post of MRC in the SDM office was being considered very lucrative and frequently this seat was on sale. The new Deputy Commissioner soon after joing had immediately transferred the clerk Anil Malik along with several others in the district.
