Sonepat (Satish Handa): Eight teams deployed for the arrest of a group of miscreants involved in brutal murder of two police personnel of Butana police station in Sonepat district Kaptan Singh SPO and Ravinder police constable while both were on night patrolling duty on their motorcycle. The group of miscreants was taking liquor at a distance of hardly 600 meters from police station when Kaptan Singh intervened into matter and both were attacked with sharp-edged weapons. Blood-stained bodies of both policemen were found lying on the road in the morning when eight police teams were deployed for the arrest of accused. Police solved the mystery within 15 hours and reached up to prime killer Amit resident of Jind involved in several criminal activities in past. During encounter with police Amit was shot dead, whereas his companion Sandeep in whose car they were travelling was arrested by the police whereas two others involved in double murder Vikas and Neeraj are yet absconding and police trying to arrest them. In encounter four police personnel including two police inspectors and an ASI were also injured.
Udai Singh Meena ASP told that police has arrested two young girls Asha and Sushila residents of Butana residing in neighbour and both girl friends of prime accuse Amit (shot dead) also present at the time of murder were arrested by police on the basis of location of mobile phone taken by Asha from Ravinder police constable after the incident and police arrested both girls admitting their involvement in the murder of both police personnel. Police recorded their statements. Both admitted that they joined four under the influence of liquor and when it was not possible for four to face both deceased policemen they too joined their accomplishes. Both told that all of them caught both policemen when Amit continuously stabbed both several times till they fell down bleeding heavily.
Asha and Sushila were produced in the court on Friday and remanded to police custody for two days. They disclosed that Amit used to come to Butana from Jind quite often to see them and on getting intimation of his arrival they used to drug their family members by mixing sleeping pills in the food which were provided by Amit, spend night with him and reach home before early morning. They told police that after the incident, Amit left them near the house at around 4 A.M and went to Jind along with Sandeep. They admitted took liquor along with four and were under the influence of liquor when incident took place.
