2000 retail food product counters in rural and urban areas in Haryana

Addressing a press conference, chief minister Haryana Manohar Lal Khatter announced opening of nearly 2000 retail counters in the name of ‘Harit Brand’in rural as well as in urban areas in the state similar to ‘Vita’ and ‘Verka’ outlets for the sale of more than one and half sealed food products including milk, milk products, curd, ice cream, cake, beverages, fruit juices,  ghee and pure honey at subsidized  rates manufactured by self-help groups in the state as well as in adjoining states Punjab, Himachal, Uttaranchal and Rajasthan. He said these counters will not only provide most hygienic packed food products to buyers but also increase sources of self-employment to youths in the state. He said, there is a proposal to open 2000 such counters in the first stage and in case the scheme proved beneficial large number of similar mini super bazaars will be established in the state in second phase.

Khatter said, state government is serious to increase farmers income in Haryana state as such there is plan to appoint nearly 17000 ‘ experienced Kisam Mitra’ in the state to assist farmers. He said, state government introduced various welfare schemes for the farmers in past six years BJP rule have proved beneficial for them and now likely to implement another scheme to enable them to sell out their crops directly in market to enable them to increase their income, which will neither effect sale in grain markets in the state nor leave any effect on minimum support prices of 17 crops fixed by the government. Khatter said that two apple markets are being developed in the state at Pinjor and Ganaur and work in case of international market at Ganaur is being commenced very shortly. Khatter expressed happiness over success of ‘Mera Paani Meri Virasat’ scheme implemented in the state to save water by changing crops pattern in about one lakh hectare areas in which paddy crop was cultivated in the state consuming huge amount of water, whereas farmers in more than 1.18 lakh hectare area has agreed to change their crop pattern from paddy to alternate crops this year thus achieving the target fixed by state government.

In reply to a question as regard termination of 1983 physical instructors in the state, Khatter said that the state is unable to bring any fresh notification in Vidhan Sabha after Supreme Court of India decision, since all selections has been cancelled by the highest court as such recruitments for these posts will have to be made again for which fresh examination is likely to be held on July 23. He disclosed, as many as nearly 20000 applicants had applied for these jobs last time, whereas nearly 13000 applications has been received so far hoping that applicants now experienced in such job would be selected again assuring transparency in these appointments by ruling BJP government enabling not to repeat such type of unfortunate happening.
