Bangalore : Governor of Karnataka, Thaawarchand Gehlot, emphasized the significance of medical service as the greatest human and divine. Governor Gehlot expressed that doctors are regarded as divine beings, and by providing healthcare services as a form of humanitarian aid, they can aspire to become successful and achieve greatness in their careers.
The Governor shared these thoughts while participating in the “ 25th convocation of Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Karnataka,” held at the prestigious JN Tata Auditorium of the Indian Institute of Science in the city on saturday.
Governor Gehlot affirmed, “Health is the greatest wealth bestowed upon us by the divine. A sound body houses a healthy mind and brain. Healthcare is a divine service, and it is my belief that all the students graduating in medicine today will excel in this noble endeavour”,he said.
During his Convocation address he further remarked, “Ancient India played a pivotal role in the advancement of medical science. In the present modern era, our nation has achieved self-reliance in the field of medicine. We possess remarkable technology, proficient pathologists, and excellent medical facilities. The university’s unwavering dedication to bringing world-class standards to Indian medical education is praiseworthy, with numerous noteworthy initiatives already undertaken”, he added.
“The Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences in Karnataka is renowned globally for its commitment to providing quality medical education. I commend the university for its remarkable progress in both academic and administrative spheres over the past 25 years,” he added.
Governor Gehlot highlighted the progress achieved by the country in various domains during the 75 years of independence and emphasized the next 25 years as a essential period for national development. He expressed the government’s resolve to transform the country into a developed nation and propel its economy to the third position worldwide, urging everyone to unite in this endeavor.
Furthermore, Padma Vibhushan awardees Dr. K. Kasturirangan, Dr. P. Satish Chandra, and Dr. M. K. Sudarshan were honored with an honorary degree in recognition of their outstanding contributions to the field of science and medicine. The Governor expressed his hope that their philanthropic work will continue to inspire the younger generation.
