27 private buses from Punjab running in Haryana without permits

Out of total number of 40 buses owned by private transporters in Punjab plying on roads in Haryana, 27 buses are illegally running seen lifting passengers from few prominent places in twin city Ambala worst affected being situated adjoining neighbouring Punjab state. According to Regional Transport Authority (RTA) office Ambala, only13 road permits have been issued to these private buses often seen lifting passengers from outside bus terminal, under national highway over-bridge outside railway station and near Capital Chowk in Ambala Cantt and Kalka Chowk, Baldev Nagar in Ambala City causing heavy revenue loss to Haryana state government.  Ambala been situated at the junction of various states U.P. Himachal Pradesh and Uttranchal large number of passengers o0n way to Punjab are seen wandering in search of buses in the town.

Surprisingly, neither officials from Regional Transport Authority and Haryana Roadways nor traffic police Ambala has taken stern action against this serious violations by private transporters from Punjab knowingly in-spite of the fact state government having heavy revenue loss for the reasons known to them. Information also reveals that most of buses illegally running on the roads in Haryana are having fake registration number plates of those vehicles having registration number of buses having road permits from RTA office in Haryana. Recently, CM Flying Squad as well as Haryana Roadways staff conducted surprise raids against these illegal buses travelling fearlessly on roads after receiving complaints and directions by senior officers and were fined. The residents of twin city Ambala now hope for improvement in this regard after local MLA Anil Vij have taken charge as Cabinet Home Minister in the state and after having charge warned administrative as well as police officers in the state that ‘Gabber is back’ and those not willing to stop illicit activities either should leave the job or get themselves transferred. Vij also conducted several surprise raids at police stations n the state and other government offices in recent past and suspended many government employees and police personnel found negligent in duty. A couple of days ago Cabinet Transport Minister Haryana also conducted surprise raid on private buses from Punjab parked near Ambala Cantt bus terminal and warned to impound such vehicles in future.
