28 Congress 25 BJP leaders claim contesting in Baroda bi-polls in Haryana

28 Congress and 25 BJP leaders claiming to get ticket to contest coming bi-polls for Baroda Vidhan Sabha constituency in Haryana has already started door-to-door canvassing in the area. This ‘Jaat’ dominating belt is going to have a tough fight between both parties in coming elections for which both parties are searching a heavy weight winning candidate. BJP and its alliance partner JJP has decided to contest for this seat jointly on BJP symbol. The constituency has started witnessing poll meetings by visiting political leaders of both parties assuring voters large number of developments in this neglected area in past years including amenities to farmers, employment opportunities for youths, installation of industry in the area, river water scheme and availability of drinking water being faced by the people in this area. However, sources reveal recent farmers protest going on in the state against BJP government declarations in agriculture sector is likely to adversely affect BJP-JJP alliance candidate in this bi-poll.

Baroda constituency comprising of 54 villages have total number of 178250 voters, which include 97819 male and 80429 female votes. Gohana has become main centre for poll publicity because 15 villages of the area have been included in this poll battle as such most of the senior party leaders are visiting the town for poll promotional activities assuring attractive developments in the constituency going to have 280 polling centres. Looking at the voters’ strength, there are 94000 ‘Jaat’, 21000 Brahman, 25000 backward class, 29000 SC and 9250 voters belonging to other caste in this constituency. However, media has not been able to find out voters mood to whom they are going to vote and support in coming bi-polls saying that until they see bride’s face unable to say about their decision and most of the voters said that they are going to vote for only capable contestant serious for the prosperity of this neglected constituency in past irrespective of political party he or she belongs to. A survey also revealed that other than ‘Jaat’ community ‘Malik Khap’ and ‘Narwal’ communities are also having strong hold in the area and candidate supported by them will be able to get handsome dividends in these bi-polls.
