3 arrested carrying drugs from West Bengal to Punjab in trucks

KURUKSHETRA  (Satish Handa): Team of Anti Narcotic Cell Kurukshetra on a information stopped two trucks smuggling drugs from West Bengal to Patiala in Punjab at a barrier on G.T. Road near village Bohali while coming from Delhi side. During search police recovered 2 kg opium packed in polythene kept behind driver seat from a truck and arrested truck driver  Major Singh resident of Rajpura in Patiala district along with another persons Sat pal resident of Lalru in Punjab sitting on the side seat. Police party also recovered 13 kg poppy husk from another truck and arrested its driver Sat Pal Singh resident of Lalru.

Himanshu Garg SP Kurukshetra told that Bharat Bhusan DSP Ladwa also reached at the spot and a case was registered at Kurukshtra police station against three arrested, all produced in the court remanded them to police custody for 10 days. Police also impounded both vehicles. During preliminary investigation three arrested admitted that they used to smuggle drugs from West Bengal to Punjab since a long time.
