32 drug smugglers arrested in 15 days campaign in Ambala range

As many as 32 dug smugglers were arrested by Ambala range police at different police stations in Ambala, Kurukshetra and Yamunanagar districts in 15 days campaign ‘Nashe Se Azadi’ organized by Haryana State Narcotics Control Bureau (HSNCB) led by senior IPS officer Shrikant Jadhav also holding the charge of Additional Director General Police Ambala range with effect from12th June to 26th June 2022 in which 28 cases were registered by the police under NDPS Act with the arrest of 32 smugglers. In this period with the recovery of huge quantity of drugs Jaghav said that 220 awareness seminars against sale as well as use of drugs were organized in educational institutes, jails and public places by HSNCB in this period to save people, especially youths from drug addiction and awareness about ill-effects of drugs.  He told that27762 persons availed services provided by HSNCB to save themselves from use of drugs during 15 days campaign.

Jadhav told that we are in a position to control drug addiction among people as well as wipe out drug smuggling in the state with public support to get information immediately on HSNCB mobile phone no 9050801508 as regard smugglers or suppliers of drugs to enable Bureau team to take immediate action. He said, Bureau conducted large number of seminars in 15 days drive against drugs and collected sufficient quantity of drugs during raids in Ambala police range including opium, smack, charas, heroine, sulpha, ganja, poppy husk and intoxicated tablets, capsules and injections. He said, increasing use of intoxicated tablets and capsules by youths both male and female, especially those living in college hostels and PG houses is a matter of concern.

Jadhav told media persons that Ambala range police as well as railway police in Ambala range destroyed drugs recovered from smugglers in as many as 84 cases registered between June 12 to June 26, 2022 in his supervision in a paper mill included nearly 3.19 quintal poppy husk, 1.31 quintal ganja, 248 gm charas, 120 gm smack, 395 gm heroine, 65 gm sulpha, 6846 intoxicated capsules, 4700 intoxicated tablets and 382 intoxicated injections.
