Anti-human Trafficking Teams in Haryana police played a important role to rescue 378 lost children and 482 lost adults in Haryana state in past eight months with effect from January 1 till August 31 this year. Information reveals large numbers of children as well as old-age persons seen begging at the bus stands, railway stations, outside religious temples and other public places or involved in child labor rescued by the police and assisted to re-join their family. In few cases where lost children are found handicapped, deaf and dumb unable to hear or speak and found at the mercy of others, in such cases members of Anti-human Trafficking units have to face lot of inconvenience while joining these rescued children with their families. There are few recued children from other states unable to understand language and during counseling of such children Anti-human Trafficking staff members have to face lot of inconvenience.
Chief of Crime Branch Haryana O.P. Singh told that there are 22Anti-human Trafficking units working in Haryana state have been directed to recover lost children as well as aged adults male or female and he or she should be assured a feeling of safety and security and the team members should treat them like a family members in order to win their confidence. Director General Police in Haryana P.K. Aggarwal told media persons that on recovery of a lost child usually counseling is required by Child Welfare Committee for a long time enabling victim to provide important clues as regard place where living along with family in past, important locations as regard a pond or a temples or markets in the area enabling to identify the place of living prior to he or she was lost and separated from family.
O.P. Singh Additional Director General Haryana police told that during current year Anti-human Trafficking Units in Haryana state recovered 378 lost children in past eight months which include 205 male child and 173 female child. According to police record, out of total number of 482 aged adults rescued in past eight months include 226 men and 253 women. He further disclosed that 1114 children were found involved in child labor and rescued by police in this period rescued by Anti-human Trafficking units, whereas 446 minor were found unwillingly involved in begging at railway stations, bus stands, outside the religious temples and other public places when they were rescued. Aggarwal said, there is a misunderstanding among people about police behavior, but it is not so since police have to work round the clock to provide security and make available justice to the people.
