4 including leading wine contractor arrested allegedly bottling fake liquor

AMBALA (SATISH HANDA): Couple of days ago Panjokhra police station on the complaint of transport company impounded a truck containing 300 cases fake English wine loaded from two godowns at village Mandour adjoining Ambala City while being smuggled to Baroda in Gujarat where sale of liquor is completely banned by the government. Police during investigation in this case arrested Gaurav Rana managed to get both godowns on hire through a contract between the owners of buildings and Nikhil Patel residing at Gujarat. Police during investigation arrested Gaurav Rana looking after the business who during police remand admitted that he had falsely hired both godowns in January this year to prepare Alovera juice and falsely signed agreement in the false name of Nikhil Patel submitting a false Aadhar card, whereas they planned to fill fake liquor and rum for smuggling to Gujarat and Bihar states declared dry by the government.. Police seized huge stocks of empty as well as filled bottles along with branded wine and rum stickers from the godowns and sent wine and rum samples to forensic laboratories for testing the chemicals used in preparing fake liquor drinks.

On the information of arrested Gaurav Rana, police arrested his two other companions identified as Prince and Satpal alias Vikki involved also in this illegal business and three were produced in the court on Friday when the prime accuse Gaurav Rana was remanded to police custody for 10 days, Prince was remanded to police custody for eight days and Satpal remanded to police custody for two days. During preliminary investigation, all arrested admitted that they were involved in illegal liquor manufacturing on the direction of a leading wine contractor Pradeep Mittal resident of Ambala City. Home Minister Anil Vij took matter seriously and had a meeting with SP, DSP, CIA Staff Inspector and SHO Panjokhra police station at his residence on Thursday late evening demanding stern action against arrested accused including high profile wine contractor mastermind in the case when police arrested high profile wine contractor during a raid at his residence. Information reveals, Vij has started monitoring in this case personally.

Meanwhile, on a clue Ambala City police raided a famous juice shop Welcome Juice in a prominent area Jagadhari Gate and arrested the owner of shop Vipin alias Happy resident of New Partap Nagar Ambala City and during search recovered huge quantity of branded wine from the water tank on the roof of shop. Navtej Singh ASI investigating the case told that as many as seven cases of offering liquor to customers in the shape of fruit juice has already been registered by the police during lockdown period when sale of liquor was banned against the arrested youth According to information two youths taking liquor during police raid managed to flee when saw police team entering the shop. According to police information, heavy stocks of wine having Imperial Blue, Signature4, Royal Stag, Royal Green, Rock Ford, McDowel, Royal Challenge,  Rock Dove,  Golfer Shot, Malta 17, Black label, Blender 3, Star Walker and Romeo Crazy brands was seized by the police from water tank and inside diesel generating set.
