45.20% fall in revenue collection in spite of 241302 registration deeds?

 State Finance Department Haryana raised question mark over 45.2 % fall in revenue collection in case of 241302 cases of registration deeds in eight months from April to November 2020 in Haryana state during epidemic outbreak as compared to this period in the previous year 2019 suspecting misuse of revenue collected in this regard and diverted some where else instead of depositing in state treasury accvount. Information reveals, revenue amount worth Rs 1949.75 crore was deposited in 241392 cases of registration deeds in the state treasury in eight months recording 45.2% drop in collection as compared to this period in the previous year.

 Expressing deep concern State Finance Commissioner Sanjeev Kaushal told that suspecting embezzlements in tehsil offices in the state in this period when large number of complaints as regard embezzlements were also received all over in the district and Commissioners of all six divisions in Haryana were directed to submit detail of all cases of registration deeds in tehsil offices across the state for a period of three year to verify irregularities in these cases and take stern action against concerned officials and staff involved in irregularities. He disclosed that detail of all cases of registration deeds finalised in past three years in Ambala, Hisar and Gurgaon divisions has already been received and detail of remaining divisions Karnal, Rohtak and Faidabad is awaited.

Information reveals, nearly 15 tehsil offices in the state are in the hit list where large numbers of complaints as regard irregularities in cases of registration deeds have been received and action will be taken against those responsible for irregularities. According to Sanjeev Kaushal, satisfactory results are visible in recovery of revenue in cases of registration deeds  in the state during months September to November 2020 after action was taken against irregularities recording revenue collection worth Rs 248.89 crore in 25928 cases of registration deeds in month September 2020, Rs 479.46 crore in 59023 cases of registration deeds in month October 2020 and Rs 440.18 crore in 44787 cases of registration deeds in month November 2020.
