5th Gurugram ENT update Live Surgical Workshop on Obstructive Sleep Apnea  Organized by ENT Association

Gurugram: The ENT Association of Gurugram successfully organized a one-day Live Surgical Workshop on Obstructive Sleep Apnea (OSA) at The Palms Club, Gurugram. The event was spearheaded by an experienced team led by Dr. Ravinder Gera, President of Haryana AOI and Organising Chairman, along with Dr. Bhushan Patil Secretary AOI Haryana and conference Organising Secretary, Dr. Sarika Verma, Co-Organising Secretary, Dr. Vishal Kapoor, President AOI Gurugram, Dr. Prashant Bhardwaj, Secretary AOI Gurugram and Dr. Amitabh Mallik, Scientific Chairman.

The highlight of the workshop was the live transmission of sleep surgeries conducted at Max Hospital, Gurugram, by two of India’s most renowned sleep surgeons, Dr. Vikas Agrawal (Mumbai) and Dr. Srinivas Kishore (Hyderabad). These surgeries offered participants deep insights into the latest techniques and innovations in the management of OSA.

The workshop witnessed an overwhelming response, with more than 200 ENT surgeons from across the region participating. It provided an excellent academic platform for young as well as experienced ENT specialists to learn directly from the masters in the field.

Esteemed senior ENT surgeons including Dr. Lalit Kocher, Dr. NPS Verma, Dr. IP Nangia, Dr. Verinder Gupta, Dr. Rupinder Ranga, Dr Uma Garg, Dr. Lalit Hasija, Dr. Ravi Bhatia, Dr. Kanwar Singh, Dr. Ashok Arora and many others graced the event with their presence, adding immense value through their active participation and discussions.

The conference underscored the importance of early diagnosis and effective surgical management of Obstructive Sleep Apnea Syndrome (OSAS), a condition that continues to be under-recognized despite its significant impact on health.

Untreated sleep apnea can reduce lifespan by 20 years and is a major cause of silent deaths. It is imperative to make public aware symptoms of sleep apnea including snoring, mouth breathing , day time sleepiness, drowsiness while driving and learning disabilities in children.

The ENT Association, Gurugram, reaffirmed its commitment to promoting continuous medical education and raising awareness about critical health issues through such academic initiatives.
