World AIDS Day was inaugurated 31 years ago in 1988 to bring awareness among people about ill effects of dreaded HIV AIDS disease fast spreading in the world as well as in India in past years. According to UNICEF report, by the end of 19th century this disease was at peak and over 30 lakh patients were found suffering from this disease. Information reveals that nearly 17 lakh new patients suffering from HIV AIDS were detected and nearly 6000 females between age 15-24 are getting infected due to sexual transmission and become victim of this dreaded disease.
Information reveals, first case of HIV AIDS disease in the world was observed at Kinshara town, capital of Democratic Republic of Kango but remained unaware for about three decades. According to information, there are nearly 3.79 crore patients including nearly 1.96 crore females suffering from HIV AIDS in the world at present and nearly 7,70,000 patients suffering from this disease were reported died during year 2018 alone. The report further reveals that 56% drop in deaths due to AIDS was recorded after the year 2004 and 33% further drop in deaths was recorded after the year 2010.
The first case of HIV AIDS in India was detected at Tamilnadu in 1986. According to UN AIDS report, there are more than 21 lakh patients suffering from HIV AIDS in the country, which include 42% females and in past two years 46% decrease in HIV AIDS patients have been detected. Health department survey also reveals that HIV AIDS disease was detected 22 times excess in males involved in homo-sexuality or oral sex, 22 times excess in those involved in flesh trade or visiting prostitutes and 12 times excess in people involved transport business.
Dr Pawan HIV & AIDS Deputy Nodal Officer at Ambala while talking to The Financial World said that AIDS is not an infectious disease usually caused due to sexual transmission and curable. He disclosed that 391 patients suffering from HIV AIDS were registered at government hospital in Ambala district in past three years, which include 23 pregnant women. He said, during current year 138 patients including three pregnant women suffering from HIV AIDS were registered at government hospital, of them 13 patients are lodged in Ambala central jail undergoing imprisonment. He said, there is a separate Poly Clinic to treat patients suffering from AIDS providing free medical treatment and having facilities for CD4Count Test to check patient’s cells as well as Viral Load Test for which private hospitals are charging Rs 4500. According to DBS Test Report, out of 15 pregnant women suffering from HIV AIDS at Ambala given birth to healthy children in past 18 months include 7 male and 8 female newborns.
