Haryana state police has launched a massive campaign to bring awareness among people for fast increasing cyber crimes in the state. Police information reveals that during the month September this year 6247 cyber fraud cases has been registered with the police stations in Haryana state as against 6064 cyber fraud cases registered in the previous month August this year. Information reveals that as a result of immediate action by the cyber crimes cell in various districts across the state fraud amount of value worth Rs 3 crore 79 lakh was saved during month August 2023 and fraud amount worth Rs 4 crore 14 lakh was saved in month September 2023.
Director General Police, Haryana Shatrujit Kapoor while talking to media persons said an Helpline Number 1930 has been launched in the state with excessive manpower to curb cyber fraud cases and take quick action to stop transfer of amount from the bank accounts. Kapoor said that all banks have been advised to appoint Nodal Officers even on bank holidays to take immediate action to hold such bank transactions and frreze the bank accounts.
Meanwhile, a couple of days ago police on a clue arrested two persons travelling on a motorcycle, both were identified as Junaid a resident of Rajasthan and Manovar a resident of Hatheen in Haryana while both were on way to Punhana in Mewat and during preliminary investigation they admitted running a racket for supply of fake mobile sim cards.
