According to police record more than 500 innocent youths in the state willing to settle abroad were cheated by as many as 657 immigration agents in Haryana arrested by the police in a special campaigns in past three years against whom 484 criminal cases were registered by the police. Information also reveals that amount worth crores of rupees have been recovered from these cheats and at present as many as 29 cases are yet under trial in the courts.

Information also reveals that as many as  51 new immigration cheating cases have been registered in the court in recent past some time in which such agents collected huge amount from the youths were sent abroad on the basis of fake visa documents and appointment letters and most of them were arrested and sent to jail in abroad. According to state police information, most of the fraud cases were reported at Kurukshetra, Karnal, Kaithal and Ambala districts.District-wise immigration fraud cases were identified as 218 cases registered  with the police in Karnal district ranking highest in the state followed by 100 cases registered at Kurukshetra, 58 cases registered at Kaithal, 56 cases registered at Ambala, 31 cases registered at Panipat, 10 cases registered at Jind, 9 cases registered at Yamunanagar, 4 cases registered at Sonipat. 2 cases each registered at Gurugram and Faridabad and one case each registered at Bhiwani, Sirsa, Charkhi Dadri and Hisar.
