69th National Film Award: Alia Bhatt and Kriti Sanon joint winner as Best Actress and Allu Arjun best Actor

New Delhi, 26 August : The National Film Awards is one of the most prestigious and highly anticipated awards in the country where regional films are made an impressive footprint. When Manipur is the highlighted world over for political turmoil, the culture ministry has given some cultural light on them, Meiteilon Film won award. Famous Film Director who was Jury head said, “The regional films are doing good nowadays becoz the recent technologies are reachable to them. We had very good talent in the regions earlier also. We, the juries spent lot of time and did hard work for this selection, these films are made during COVID time which is is very important”.

Alia Bhatt and Kriti Sanon won Best Actress awards for Gangubai Kathiawadi and Mimi. Pallavi Joshi wins Best Supporting Actress for The Kashmir Files and Pankaj Tripathi won Best Supporting Actor for Mimi. Best Actor, Allu Arjun won best Actor award for Pushpa: The Rise. Best Director award won by Nikhil Mahajan for Marathi film Godavari. Nargis Dutt Award for Best Feature Film on National Integration is ‘The Kashmir Files’.

Vicky Kaushal’s ‘Sardar Udham’, directed by Shoojit Sircar, has won the Best Hindi Film Award, Best Cinematography award won by Avik Mukhopadhayay for Sardar Udham. Best Audiography (Re-recordist of the final mixed track) award jointly won by Sinoy Joseph & Sardar Udham. Best Costume Designer award won by Veera Kapur for Sardar Udham. Best Production Design award jointly won by Dmitrii Malich and Mansi Dhruv Mehta for Sardar Udham. 

Best Editing award won by Sanjay Leela Bhansali for Gangubai Kathiawadi and Best Dialogue Writing award won by Utkarshini Vashishtha and Prakash Kapadia for Gangubai Kathiawadi, Best Screenplay (Adapted) won by Gangubai Kathiawadi again. Best Make-up award won by Gangubai Kathiawadi too. 

Best Music Director (Songs)won by Devi Sri Prasad for Pushpa. Rocketry: The Nambi Effect won Best Feature Film Award. The Best Actor Award was presented to Allu Arjun for ‘Pushpa: The Rise’. Famous Singer Shreya Ghoshal won Best Female Playback Singer for Maayava Chaayavaa from Iravin Nizhal (Tamil).

SS Rajamouli-directorial blockbuster RRR, whose ‘Naatu-Naatu’ song won the Best Original Song Award in Oscar 2023, has won three awards for best action direction, best choreography, and best special effects. Best Music Direction (Background Music) won by MM Keeravaani for RRR. Best Playback Singer – Male won by Kaala Bhairava for RRR. The Best Popular Film RRR (Telugu) which is Providing Wholesome Entertainment. Best Stunt Choreography also won by RRR. Best Special Effects award won by Srinivas Mohan for RRR. 

Best Bengali Film selected ‘Kalkokkho’. Special Jury award has gone to Sidharth Malhotra-Kiara Advani starrer ‘Shershaah’. Best Malayalam Film selected ‘Home’. Chello Show won Best Gujarati Film, 777 Charlie won Best Kannada Film. Best Tamil Film selected Kadaisi Vivasayi, Best Telugu Film selected Uppena. Best Marathi Film selected Ekda Kaay Zala, Best Assamese Film award won by Anur, Best Meiteilon Film award won by Eikhoigi Yum. Best Odiya Film award won by Pratikshya, Best Non-Feature Film award won by Ek Tha Gaon (Garhwali & Hindi).

The films that were censored from January 1, 2021, to December 31, 2021, were in the running for a National Award this year. The 69th National Awards winners were announced today, August 24, in Delhi by Ketan Mehta.
