881 arrested in ‘Operation Aakraman’ in Haryana

In view of Lok Sabha polls, Haryana government has launched ‘Operation Aakraman’ in state in which 1309 teams comprising of 6161 policemen led by a police officer during raids since early morning till late night on Saturday arrested 881 anti-social elements involved in criminal activities on the information gathered by CID in the state. The police registered 478 cases during the day, talking to the media persons Director General Police (DGP) Haryana Shatrujit Kapoor said that the police department  prior to raids had collected all information regarding  illegal arms, drug smugglers and other criminal activities by the hard core criminals in the state.

DGP Haryana disclosed that 28 FIRs  were registered under the Arms Act during the day in which 32 illegal arms were collected by the police. He said, in the Satnali area under Mohindergarh district the police during raids had seized 392 kg explosive material, 190 detonators and 750 meter wire, and arrested as many as 19 persons involved in illegal mining in the state. DGP said that during raids police also arrested six drug smugglrs from whom recovered 3 kg ‘ganja’, 1.5 kg opium, 22 kg heroine, and 7.80 gm ‘chitta’.
Meanwhile, in view of Lok Sabha polls the district administration Ambala has declared alert and since after the code of conduct declared by the government in the state during raids recovered 479 complaints on C-Vigil AP as regard violations of code of conduct, besides also seized drugs and illicit liquor at different places of value worth over Rs 50 lakh in the state. According to a spokesperson of district administration, out of 479 complaints received as regard violation of the code of conduct so far, nearly 460 complaints have already been sorted out and action on the remaining 19 complaints are under process.
