According to Bihar police, over 21.59 lakh litre illicit liquor smuggled from various states was seized in Bihar state during year 2020 since Bihar has been declared dry state by the government. Dhariwal resident of Raja Garden Ambala along with another youth Neeraj alias Shanti helping him tn this illegal business in which his son Pushpinder Dhariwal presently in the jail was also involved. Information reveals that Dhariwal and his son were also involved in about a dozen liquor smuggling cases registered against them in Gujarat state also declared dry by the government

Information also revealed that Dhariwal used to procure illicit liquor from a liquor mafia at Chandigarh and few other sources yet to be identified by the police. Bihar police told that drug smuggling cases were registered against Dhariwal and his son Pushpinder at police stations Muzaffar Pur, Manjhi in Saran district, Simri in Darbhanga district, Pipra in Motihari district, Nadi in Patna district and Paru in Muzaffar Pur district in Bihar state.
Amrit Raj IGP Bihar told that nearly a dozen liquor smugglers from Punjab and Haryana are wanted by police in Bihar allegedly smuggled huge quantity of illicit liquor in vehicles having fake number plates, fake bills of other products dispatched on fake GST numbers and police is searching for their arrests. He told that Bihar police was in search Dhariwal since a long time. Recently, Gujarat police also arrested two youths Gaurav and Vikram residents of Yamunanagar in Haryana carrying illicit liquor in their Maruti car HR39D9599 having fake number plate GJ06UA-4312 and in another case arrested two persons Gautam resident of Jind and Sunil resident of Hisar carrying illicit liquor in car having registration number HRBG-4747 with fake number plate MH43AB-3361 on it.
Information also reveals,, more than seven lakh bottles illicit liquor were seized while being smuggles from Haryana to Delhi duing the year 2020 which include 75887 bottles in January,1.18 lakh bottles in February, 57719 bottles in March, 25743 bottles in April, 24929 bottles in May, 34189 bottles in June, 62295 bottles in July, 65707 bottles in August, 52279 bottles in September, 1,03 lakh bottles in October, 43739 bottles in
November and 45378 bottles in December 2020.
