Samsung launches four new phones in Galaxy A&J series

 Samsung launched four new smartphones here today that highlighted a paradigm shift in the mobile industry for design with its signature Infinity Design philosophy in its’ A & J Series. The new Galaxy J6, J8, A6 and A8 showcased 15% more display area — without increasing the size of the device – due to extremely thin bezels and change in in the display hardware delivering a 18.5:9 aspect ratio for end-to-end viewing experience and more browsing space along with a new ‘Chat Over Video’ and the Super AMOLED display technology, said Mohandeep Singh, Senior Vice-President, Samsung India.

These four smartphones have been priced at: Galaxy A6+, A6 (4/64GB) & A6 (4/32GB) costing Rs 25,990, Rs 22,990 and Rs 21,990 respectively, and Galaxy J8, J6 (4/64GB) and J6 (3/32GB) costing Rs 18,990, Rs 16,490 and Rs 13,990 respectively.

“These four smartphones are built for today’s Millennial and our latest +Make in India+ innovation – ‘Chat-Over-Video’ — allows uninterrupted viewing experience through a transparent chat window while a video is still running, thus eradicating consumer pain point of chat interruptions while viewing content on their mobile devices. The other Make in India innovation – Samsung Mall App – used artificial intelligence to let users shop by clicking a picture of the desired product and automatically getting results for the item across popular e-commerce platforms,” he said.

Replying to questions, he said while 4G is fuelling video consumption and India probably has the best 4G in the world, Samsung had two out of the top three Apps for Photo Editors – where currently 70% of Millennials edit photos. “Millennials are driving economic growth with related shopping CAGR growth likely to increase by 30% to US$ 50 billion in 2018 and where 70% of them are shoppers under 35 years of age,” he said.

Samsung has also tied up with Paytm Mall in continuation of their industry-first O2O partnership that encourages consumers to buy on Paytm Mall while getting served by an offline retailer, and also giving consumers a specific cashback on the Galaxy A6 and A6+, J6 and J8 smartphones for choosing to pay through Paytm Mall at any of the 25,000 retail outlets enabling this offer. Amit Sinha, COO Paytm Mall, said “With our O2O model, we aim to create a network for brands to reach out to millions of consumers, thereby optimizing the supply chain and also aiding in marketing.”
