Hina Rohtaki wins prestigious Ramnath Goenka award

New Delhi :Hina Rohtaki of Indian Express has won the Ramnath Goenka award in the ‘Uncovering India Invisible’ category.She received the award at a ceremony held in New Delhi today.

Hina Rohtaki,a principal correspondent with Indian Express, has won the award for her story ‘The Crossing’. In the story she had highlighted the plight of 59 villages of three gram panchayats in Morni block in Panchkula district. The villagers have been waiting for a bridge over Ghaggar river for decades. Until it is built, residents have to wade through the river whose levels rise without warning, or do a risky balancing act over a water pipe to get to the other side.
