Three murders in a week at Ambala during lockdown

Three murder cases were reported at various police stations in a week at Ambala during lock down period. A youth Dimple resident of Railway Colony Ambala Cantt was killed by his three friends on April 14-15 night when they were having drinks and started hot discussion under the influence of liquor. Dimple’s body after severe beatings was thrown near railway track during midnight and his motorcycle was found parked outside the house in the morning to hide evidences. Parao police station Ambala Cantt arrested his friend Jony on the same day suspecting involved in crime when saw blood spots on his two-wheeler during preliminary investigation who admitted crimes with two another friends. Police arrested all accused within 24 hours and sent to jail.
In another dowry death case registered on April 19 by Mahesh Nagar police station Ambala Cantt against three members of a family including husband Gulshan, father-in-law Jaipal and mother-in-law Sudesh Rani all residents of village Behta near Ambala Cantt allegedly killed daughter-in-law Preeti mother of two children on the complaint of deceased’s father Ashok Kumar resident of Shamli in U.P who blamed that his daughter was being harassed by husband and his parents since after the marriage of his daughter about five years ago for dowry.. Body of Preeti was seen burning by the villagers late night when they also informed Saha police station. Gulshan informed Preeti’s parents next day after performing last rites of deceased during late night after her death. Police registered a dowry death case against three absconding.
In the third case of murder of Gurmej Singh a prisoner released on 40 days parole from Ambala central jail due to lockdown when he was standing outside the house at village Rolon near Ambala Cantt on April 20 afternoon buying vegetables. Gurmej was sent sentenced 20 years imprisonment by the court about five years ago allegedly killed his elder brother Ranbir due to land clash in 2015. Gurmej was hit by car driven by Ranbir’s son and attacked Gurmej with sharp-edged weapons several times along with other members of family to take revenge of his father’s death. Gurmej was referred to PGI Chandigarh by civil hospital Ambala Cantt in a pool of blood but died on the way. Police registered a case against six persons Manjinder nephew, his wife Rajni, niece Kuljinder, sister-in-law Gurmesh, Sandeep and Maninder’s friend all attacked Gurmej with sharp-edged weapons on the complaint of deceased’s wife.
