IMA condemns attack on corona warriors

Large number of residents including members of a family attacked a survey team comprising of Asha workers led by Rekha Sharma went to sector 62 Faridabad for collecting the detail of health of residents of families staying in the area when members of a family got annoyed when enquiry was made by the team and members of family and neighbours not only misbehaved with the female team but started beating them with ‘lathees’, team members had to run to save their lives and informed the doctor arrived at the spot immediately with two policemen started investigation. Two members of survey team were reported injured in this incident.

Meanwhile, Dr Rajan Sharma National President Indian medical Association (IMA) while addressing media persons at Yamunanagar strongly condemned large number of cases in which doctors, medical staff and police personnel known as corona warriors had to face abuses, lathees while on duty. Dr Sharma said that doctors and medical staff has played important role to control KEVID-19 helping corona positive patients irrespective of their caste, creed and religion as religion of a doctor is ‘Dharam’and save life of others as such action should be taken by the government against such elements under National Security Act since a handful of anti-social elements are disturbing the system forcing medical staff not to perform their duty to save lives of people. Large number of doctors observed ‘White Day’ on April 22 wearing white coats and announced to wear black badges in the hospitals observing Black Day on April 23 in protest of frequent attacks on doctors and medical staff.
