75% reservation in jobs in private sector for youths in Haryana

Ruling Haryana state government has decided to constitute a new law likely to be implemented from August this year for 75% reservation in jobs for employment in private sector in the state for youths hailing from Haryana state. This was also in poll manifesto by JJP having alliance with ruling government in the state. The proposal was formed by the state government about six months ago but action could not be taken since most of people in trade and industry in the state strongly objected over the same and entrepreneurs told that they are in a position to employ only competent persons and cannot be forced any implementation in this regard and state government interference was not accepted to them. Haryana chief minister Manohar Lal Khatter while talking to media persons then said that private sector cannot be forced for any decision and state government will try to solve this issue amicably along with the entrepreneurs at a right time.

The situation as on date have been changed due to lakhs of migrant labourers working in private sector in the state has already shifted back to their native states due to corona virus epidemic outbreak and became jobless as a result of closure of trade and industry in the state due to lock down declared by the government. Information reveals, among those already left for their native states most of the workers are not likely to return to work and nost of them get alternate jobs in their native states as such industry in Haryana state would face acute shortage of workers and there are good chances for youths in the state to get jobs in private sector in Haryana state.

Meanwhile, Dushyant Chatala Deputy Chief Minister as well as also holding the charge of labour & employment ministry in the state had meetings with several leading entrepreneurs in Haryana state to convince them to give opportunity to youths within the state to work in their establishments. He assured entrepreneurs that youths in Haryana state would be given specialized training at ‘Kaushal Vikas University’ set up by the state government at Palwal in Haryana state to provide grooming to youths. According to draft prepared by state government, the condition of 75% reservation in jobs for youths in Haryana state would be applicable only for employees up to monthly salary less than Rs 50000. Chautala said, the detail for various posts in government as well as private sector will be connected with Employment Portal. He disclosed that the draft in this regard has already been approved by the government, which would be produced in coming Monsoon Vidhan Sabha session for approval initially for a period of 10 years and revised thereafter and all private organisations in the state would be given three years time to implement reservation scheme in the state completely.
