Haryana crime branch police arrested most wanted cheat Rajesh alias Candy Baba against whom more than 26 cheating cases of value worth over Rs 100 crore are registered in various police stations in Haryana and Punjab was absconding since December 2018 arrested near Badarpur border by Faridabad police while travelling in a Verna car. According to CIA Staff arrested cheat Baba, he was hiding himself in Punjab and Nepal since past about one and half year and also visited Nepal three to four times in this period.
Abhishek Jorwal SP Ambala told that Candy Baba will be brought on production warrant allegedly involved in two cheating cases of value Rs 44 lakh allegedly assuring to supply pure gold at the price Rs 22 lakh per kilogram registered at Baldev Nagar police station when he was staying in a rented house at Ambala City along with his wife Meena and two children also stated disappeared after Candy Baba went underground all of sudden with a luxury car owned by one of his follower when failed to refund cheated amount. Jorwal disclosed that arrested accuse cheated large number of his followers avoided to lodge complaints with police. Police also registered cheating cases against him at Ambala, Kurukshetra, Kaithal, Faridabad and Derrabassi (Punjab).
According to police information, Candy Baba was arrested with the help of Cyber Crime Cell. Among those cheated by Candy Baba at Ambala include Charanjit Singh a factory owner cheated by Rs 2 crore, Manni running catering business cheated by Rs 32 lakh, Malkiat Singh resident of Kurukshetra cheated by Rs 48 lakh, Saransh resident of Ambala cheated by Rs 52 lakh, Pankaj resident of Ambala cheated by Rs 35 lakh, Jassi resident of Mohali cheated by Rs 98 lakh and many more between 40-50 persons in the area cheated by Candy Baba now are making complaints to police after his arrest in a hope to recover lost money worth Rs 50 crore. They told that Candy Baba was having art to attract others and trap in his net. Information reveals, on the complaint of Surinder Pehalwan resident of village Pyoda in Kaithal district allegedly Candy Baba cheated a group of 20-22 persons amount worth Rs 7.26 crore, state crime branch Panchkula started his search with the help of Cyber Crime Cell branch and arrested him.
Prior to coming at Ambala, Candy Baba was staying at ‘Badbhag Dera’ at village Sharifgarh in Kurukshetra district working as a drum beater where he learnt ‘Tantar-Mantar’ knowledge. Information revealed that he also obtained ‘Kala Jadoo’ knowledge during his visit to Nepal. Past scenario of Rajesh alias Candy Baba revealed that originally he belongs to Samalkha in Panipat district and left for Delhi in 1992 in search of work and started cable repairing business, developed interest in religious recitation (Kirtan) with a religious party, started love affairs with the daughter of in-charge of religious party and both married. Candy Baba established his own Dera at Ambala City and attracted large number of followers where he developed affairs with another girl Sakshi from the family of one of his follower at Ambala and both started staying in live-in relationship together in-spit of fact he was already married.
