Eight youths suicide cases reported in 24 hours: Haryana Police

Increasing cases of suicide by youths is a matter of concern. Police has registered eight cases of suicide by youths in past 36 hours at Ambala and its surrounding area.  Two prisoners identified as Sunil Kumar (31) undergoing life imprisonment in Ambala central jail in a murder case released on parole from jail due to corona virus epidemic outbreak and another youth Ram Das (35) having nine cases of theft registered against him both committed suicide in jail barrack by hanging themselves with windows with the help of bed sheet. Both were arrested while snatching purse from a female near Panchayat Bhawan Ambala City on June 6, 2020, caught by people and handed over to police were sent to jail. Police recovered a suicide note from Sunil Kumar married having a child in which he had written that he failed to be a good son and fulfil the dreams of his parents as such ending his life. However, no suicide note was recovered from Ram Das.

In another case, Happy (21) resident of village Dhaneri was found hanging with a tree near the house in early morning hours when village Sarpanch informed police, brought down body. Deceas4ed’s father Sat Pal in a complaint to Sadar police station Ambala City alleged a female Suman alias  Jaya resident of village Aujala arrived at their house previous day not only misbehaved with their family members but also threatened dire consequences allegedly Happy having illicit relations with her as such she became pregnant. Happy left house during mid night and committed suicide by hanging. Suresh Saini SHO told that a case under section 306 IPC has been registered against Suman alias Jaya likely to be arrested soon.

Raman (35) resident of Panjlasa Chowk Naraingarh in Ambala district committed suicide by hanging in his house and released a video on social media prepared by him before suicide saying that he was committing suicide due to Sunil Dutt harassing him. Deceased’s son Tushar disclosed to police that Sunil Dutt was trying to occupy their house forcibly compelling his father to end his life. SHO Naraingarh police station Arvind said that police has registered a case and alleged accuse will be arrested soon.

About three months after love marriage with Anjali resident of Yamunanagar with Bharat (24) managed to flee and both married and stayed at Panipat, Bharat alias Lavish son of Jagmal working in a factory at Panipat committed suicide by hanging with ceiling fan in his house at Yamunanagar during night. Anjali told that during night when both were sleeping on the first floor Bharat went to ground floor to take water but did not return for long time and his body was found hanging in a room. According to information parents of Anjali had lodged a complaint with police against Bharat under section 365 IPC allegedly managed to abduct their daughter and police was searching him as such he was mentally disturbed and committed suicide under depression. Police started investigation under section 174.

Manjeet Singh (24) originally hailing from Behreen involved in PVC panelling job work staying in a rented house at Shastri Colony Yamunanagar committed suicide by hanging in his house during night after he was insulted by house care taker Rita Goel, her husband and another person arrived to collect house rent and insulted Manjeet when failed to pay three months house rent at the rate Rs 5500 per months because he had to sit without job due to lock down and assured lady care taker to pay immediately when lock down would be lifted. However, deceased’s father Jitender Singh in a complaint to police accused house care taker Reeta Goel responsible for the death of his son Manjeet and police registered a case against three under section 174 IPC.

Two cousin brothers Akshay (21) and Yash (17) along with their friend Shubham (17) residing in their neighbourhood at Gharaunda consumed poison under mysterious circumstances, started vomiting, became unconscious and were rushed to Kalpana Chawla Hospital Karnal. They disclosed took poison. Both Akshay and Yash died on way to hospital whereas Shubham was admitted in the hospital struggling for his life. It is yet a mystery under which circumstances they consumed poison. SHO Gharaunda police station said that third victim Shubham is still unconscious unable to say anything .
