1106 medical students in Haryana to fight corona in civil hospitals

1106 final year MBBS students of 11 government as well as private medical colleges in Haryana state would provide their services to fight corona in civil hospitals in the state in view of fast spreading corona patients and shortage of doctors in government hospitals from today June 22 as per direction issued by Directorate Medical Education & Research, Government of India issued on June 16, 2020 when all final year students in medical colleges in the state were required to report to CMOs in the districts in the state who will arrange for their stay and foods for such medical students deployed on special duty in hospitals. Such students were provided basic training related to KEVID-19 in medical colleges for a week before joining duty.

According to schedule issued by directorate, 204 students of PGI Rohtak would provide services in civil hospitals at five district Rohtak (54 students), Bhiwani (46 students), Charkhi Dadri (30 students), Rewari (40 students) and Fatehabad (34 students). Similarly, 150 MBBS students from MM Medical College Mullana (Ambala) providing services  at the civil hospitals at Ambala, Yamunanagar and Panchkula 50 students each. 100 MBBS final year students from PGI Maharaja Agarsen Medical College Agroha have been  deployed on special duty 50 each at the civil hospitals Hisar and Sirsa.

100 female MBBS final year students from Khanpur Kalan Medical College for Women have been sent on special duty 50 each at civil hospitals Sonepat and Jind respectively. Similarly 79 students of Kalpana Chawla Medical College Karnal has been deployed on duty at civil hospitals Karnal (36 students) and Jhajjar ((43 students). Out of total number of 150 MBBS final year students from Adesh Medical College in Kurukshetra district 50 students each has been sent on duty in civil hospitals Kurukshetra, Kaithal and Panipat. 101 students from ESIC Medical College Faridabad has been deployed on special duty at civil hospital Faidabad, 96 students from SGT Medical Institute Gurugram sent to civil hospital Gurugram, 27 students from World Medical College Jhajjar reported to CMO at Jhajjar and two students from NC Medical College Israna deployed on duty to civil hospital Panipat.
