Developing hubs for bulk drugs, medical devices & weapons in Haryana

In a virtual programme Aatam Nirbhar Bharat-Made in India, Made for World by CII Pharmascope organised by Haryana state government presided by Manohar Lal Khattar Chief Minister in which 325 senior representatives of 15 large pharmaceutical companies participated, Khattr proposed to develop a Bulk Drugs Park in 1000 to 1700 acres area at Panipat and another Medical Device Park at Karnal at a distance of about 30 km in 225 acres area. In order to become self dependent and fulfil the demand of bulk drugs and basic raw material used in pharmaceutical industries presently being imported from China and other countries. Khattar said, proposed projects will not only meet the demand of all pharmaceutical industries in Haryana state but also fulfil the requirement of industries in neighbouring states Punjab, H.P, Jammu-Kashmir, Uttaranchal, U.P and Rajasthan thus saving huge expenses towards transportation as well as time.

While addressing, Khattar said, there are more than 150 Pharmacy colleges, institutes and Universities in Haryana state thus having enough sources of manpower to meet the requirement of manufacturers in bulk drug park. He said, Haryana state is holding 45% share in production of pharmaceuticals products in the country and 50% production of bulk drugs and raw material will be consumed by the pharmaceutical industry in the North enabling to save huge amount in transportation. Chief Minister said, there would be subsidy and attractive packages for those investing in these parks as well as provision for allotment of plots on outright sale as well as on lease hold basis at both places. He said, there is a proposal to develop Industrial Model Township (IMT) at Panipat having provision for an international level infrastructure available in it.

Meanwhile, President Haryana Vidhan Sabha Gian Chand Gupta has submitted a proposal to Prime Minister Narender Modi on behalf of Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar for setting up industry to manufacture weapons for Indian army in Pinjore  at the place where HMT factory was earlier situated stating an ideal place for such industry since headquarter of Western Command, Indian Air Force Station Ambala and air base Pathankot are situated nearby which would also bring relief to adjoining army areas at Haryana, H.P, Punjab, Jammu-Kashmir and Chandigarh.
