After the incident in which CBI team from Panchkula raided CGST office Rohtak in which four excise & taxation department officers Gurvinder Singh Sohal Superintendent, Kuldeep Hooda Superintendent and two inspectors Pradeep and Rohit were booked while accepting bribe worth crores of rupees from Manoj Kalra Managing Director of a pharmaceutical company Research Medicine Private Limited at Rai in Sonepat district on August 14, 2020 threatening to involve him in false case. However, Kuldeep Hooda was arrested, remanded to police custody and sent to jail under judicial remand by CBI court whereas remaining three alleged accused managed to flee and are yet absconding. According to Vijay Mohan Jain Commissioner GST Rohtak, the absconding officers absent from duty without information were suspended by the government on August 21, 2020 and police trying for their arrest. Meanwhile, a six member CBI team on Friday visited CGST Rohtak office to collect the file in view of complaint lodged with CBI by Research Medicine Private Limited Rai found missing from the office when the visiting team continued search for five to six hours and managed to open the almirah sealed by them in the presence of Anil Rawel Assistant Commissioner and Anup Shukla Superintendent and took into possession as many as 20 suspected files for verification after having interrogation with arrested Kuldeep Hooda during police remand presently in CBI custody lodged in jail. While talking to media persons, CGST Commissioner said that full cooperation is being extended to CBI team during investigation.
Information reveals, as many as 10 firms in six districts Sirsa, Jind, Rohtak, Sonepat, Bhiwani and Dadri has been trapped in CBI net suspected involved in GST frauds worth Rs 46.23 crore in the shape of Input Tax Credit (ITC) on sale of goods of value worth Rs 385.26 crore raising fake bills during year 2018-19, which included four firms in Sirsa district suspected issued fake bills of value Rs 273 crore by four firms, two firms in Jind district suspected raised fake bills of value worth Rs 8.28 crore, a Rohtak based firm suspected raised fake bill of value worth Rs 11 crore, Sonepat firm suspected raised fake bills of value Rs 9 crore, Bhiwani and Dadri firms suspected raised fake bills of value worth Rs 68 crore.
