Racket preparing fake ‘Desi’ liquor at Ambala, Panipat & Panchkula busted

YAMUNANAGAR (SATISH HANDA) Police busted a racket illegally preparing fake ‘Desi’ liquor at village Machhoda in Ambala district, Samalkha in Panipat district and Panchkula supplying to liquor vends all over in Haryana state. On a information by two wine contractors Gaurav Kamboj and Anej Damla. Yamunanagar police during raid impounded a canter at Bubka Road Radaur in Yamunanagar district and recovered 689 cases ‘Desi’ liquor on September 11, 2020. However, canter driver managed to flee whereas Pradeep resident of village Mathana in Kurukshetra district was arrested by the police. There were two vehicles including a Swift car and a Safari car chasing the canter to manage delivery of liquor and collection of payment and both vehicles managed to slip when police stopped canter. Pradeep failed to produce any documents related to ‘Desi’ liquor loaded in the canter.

About a week ago, Panjokhra police station in Ambala district had busted a gang and arrested five persons including a prominent wine contractor of Ambala City Pradeep Mittal and Gaurav hired two godowns at village Mandaur near Ambala City on fake name involved in manufacturing fake wine and rum identifying themselves manufacturing Alovera juice. The racket was smuggling fake branded wine and rum to Gujarat and Bihar states declared dry by the government. Police investigation revealed that 8259 bottles fake ‘Desi’ liquor were brought in canter for sale in Radaur area on September 11 chased by four others in two cars managed to escape when saw police stopped canter later identified as Bittu Singh originally hailing from U.P, Vikas resident of Panipat, Raju and Pola both residents of Mathana village in Kurukshetra district.

During police investigation, arrested three disclosed that fake liquor was being prepared in three districts and supplied to a large network of liquor vendors in the state mostly in rural areas at much cheaper rates. They disclosed, ‘Desi’ liquor was being prepared from basic raw material Extra Literal Alcohol procured from a distillery in Punjab, whereas empty bottles supplied through a dealer Maan Singh at Chandigarh manufactured by a plastic container factory at Delhi, labels being supplied by a printer from Swarup Nagar Delhi and production of liquor was controlled by Basant Gupta. The arrested accused further disclosed that a  driver Raghubir Singh alias  Rambir resident of Bahadurgarh used to procure raw material including chemicals used to prepare ‘Desi’ liquor for all production units from Banud in Punjab for which he was being paid handsome amount. However, police started investigation for the arrest of prime accused running illegal manufacturing of liquor.
