MLA’s protest against bureaucrats outside Haryana Vidhan Sabha

Ambala, (Satish Handa): Ambala City MLA Aseem Goel had a protest ‘dharna’ outside Haryana Vidhan Sabha at Chandigarh against Additional Chief Secretary P.K. Das and other officers of Food & Supply Department in Haryana state on Wednesday against inconveniences faced by the farmers bringing paddy crops in the grain market as well as the commission agents in grain markets in the state. He said, dumps of crops brought by farmers in the grain markets are lying in open everywhere due to poor lifting by government agencies also likely to delay their payment and there is no space left for storage of crops in the markets.

Goel warned protest against the government as well as concerned officers along with large number of farmers, commission agents and labourers working in Ambala City grain market in case concerned department failed to listen to farmers grievances and their problems not solved by the food and supply department in all grain markets in the state. He accused   Additional Chief Secretary P.K. Das as well as other senior officers of his department sitting in their cabins least bothered to listen to and solve farmers grievances in grain markets across the state where most of portal are not working and farmers brough their crops for sale are compelled to move to post to pillar in the grain markets for the sale of crop brought for sale but situation has become bad to worst in the absence of senior bureaucrats avoid visiting grain markets to solve farmers problems.

Denying allegations, P.K. Das Additional Chief Secretary told media persons that arrival of paddy crop as well as procurement by government agencies is going on in perfect order. He expressed surprise over Aseem Goel’s allegations and protest ‘dharna’ outside Secreteriate  being an MLA and part of the ruling government in the state instead of taking up matter with the concerned officials,  minister or chief minister Manohar Lal Khatter. Meanwhile Haryana chief minister Khatter said that farmers’ crops procurement policies in all grain markets in the state are much better as compared to other states in the country. He said Aseem Goel a commission agent and a rice miller himself being a part of ruling government must be suggesting some better arrangements for the convenience to the farmers in Haryana state and took up this issue. Khatter assured to discuss with Goel as well as concerned government officers.
