70 cows die, 30 serious due to food poisoning

PANCHKULA (SATISH HANDA): 70 cows were reported died and 30 serious struggling for the life due to food poisoning when foam was seen oozing from their mouth at holy Mata Mansa Devi temple cow shed on Wednesday. Dr Naresh Mittal Secretary Go-dham told that a team of doctors and officers of Mata Mansa Devi Mandir Shrine Board arrived at the spot immediately when informed found 70 animals dead and started treatment of another 30 animals struggling for life through injections to save their lives. According to Dr Anil Belwala Deputy Director Animal Husbandry, cows died due to food poisoning suspected taken poisonous ‘Kuttu’ flour offered by some visitor on previous late evening. Kulbhushan Goel president cow shed told that search for the visitor offered poisonous flour to animals has been started and samples of viscera of dead animals has been sent to Hisar laboratory for investigation.

Gian Chand Gupta Speaker Haryana Vidhan Sabha also MLA Panchkula, Mukesh Ahuja Deputy Commissioner Panchkula and Nishu Singla Chief Executive Office of Zila Parishad also arrived at the spot on getting information of mishap and ordered investigation by a three members committee comprising of Nishu Singla, Dr Anil Benwal and Raj Kumar Assistant Commissioner P olice was constituted to investigate and give report in two days. According to information, there are as many as seven cow sheds in the complex having a  strength of nearly 1500 cows and all affected cows were accommodated in two sheds. However, animals in remaining five sheds were found safe. Police has started search for visitor offered poisonous flour to animals to find out killer.
