Harike Wildlife Sanctuary open for visitors again, announces Punjab Forest Minister

Chandigarh: Visitors can now visit Wild life sanctuary of Harike Pattan again.This information was given by  Sadhu Singh Dharamsot, Forest Minister while visiting Harike Wildlife Sanctuary at Harike Patan.

During this, he also launched a unique portrait depicting beautiful serene calmness and natural beauty of Harike Pattan, prepared by Punjab based Lawyer and nature Photographer, Harpreet Sandhu, during his special visit today at Harike Pattan along with the Chief Wild Life Warden Punjab, R.K Mishra, IFS. On this occasion Harminder Singh Gill, MLA Patti was also present.

The portrait depicts the most pretty and scenic wetland – Harike Pattan, which is famous for migratory birds and the natural lake which is created by the confluence of Sutlej and Beas Rivers.

During his interaction with the reporters, he said that in order to make the sanctuary more attractive, an earlier amount of Rs.15 crore which could not be released due to the Covid-19 will be released soon.

He further said that for this efforts, a committee would also be made for the development of Wild life warden of Harike Pattan. Punjab Forest Minister, while launching the portrait acknowledged the efforts of Lawyer Harpreet Sandhu for his dedicated work  during the lockdown to capture the nature glimpse.

On this occasion, Harpreet Sandhu said that this famous nature spot of Punjab is a paradise and well known for its flora- fauna and migratory birds, surrounded with the natural lake situated deep inside the sanctuary in Harike and if this place is projected, people from across the globe will throng at this beautiful wetland and witness its natural beauty.
