OSK India Signs MoU With Russia’s United Shipbuilding Corporation

Bengaluru : OSK India Pvt. Ltd. (OIPL), a Crown Group Company, today signed an MoU with United Shipbuilding Corporation of Russia, to provide augmented indigenous product and services support to the Indian Navy. This MOU covers maintenance and servicing of Indian naval ships, besides also manufacturing & supply of spares.

Commodore Rakesh Anand, CEO of OSK India Pvt Ltd (former CMD of Mazagon Docks Limited), said this MOU will lead to enhanced maintenance facilities for the Indian Navy to keep its assets in combat ready position.

“The Indian Navy possesses a substantial fleet of Russian Warships and Submarines acquired over the years and requiring continuous maintenance support for combat readiness. The need to strengthen maintenance support to the Indian Navy led to creating OSK India Pvt Ltd (OIPL), which comprises highly-qualified and experienced engineers, supervisors and technicians that are highly conversant with technologies are installed on board Naval platforms.”

“OIPL services to the Indian Navy highlighted a single window solution for supplying spares and repairs, providing OEM driven solutions for many long standing issues and reduced turnaround time for repair activities with shortened delivery frame,” Anand said, adding “In keeping with the GoI vision of ‘AtmaNirbhar Bharat’, the Marine division is also working towards establishing capability for manufacturing propulsion shafting and Magazine Fire Fighting System (MFFS) for warships and submarines,”

OSK is a Russian holding company having ownership of major Russian shipyards and critical equipment manufacturers in Russia.
