Music Therapy enhances quantity of milk in animals

According to a study report by scientists of National Dairy Research Institute (NDRI)  Karnal, the quantity of milk in animals like cow, she buffalo, goat increases with music therapy by playing music minimum for six to eight hours in a day especially with the help of musical instruments like flute, guitar, and harmonium which provide them relief from mental tension If we look at ancient history cows used to close their eyes enjoying music played by God Krishan on his flute.

According to Dr Manmohan Singh Chauhan Director NDRI Karnal, good results were seen when music therapy was applied on a group of cows as a result nearly 25% increase in production of milk in these animals was observed.. The experiment also revealed that not only milk growth but also feed of the diet and health of animals also improved due to relaxation in mind and body in animals. He said, in order to find out the effect of changing climate on animals as an experiment a study project was initiated the institute on a group of three dozen different breed cows keeping an eye on the diet, development , body temperature and change in hormones in February 2011 when satisfactory results were observed in these animals.

Another scientist Dr Ashutosh told that change in temperature leaves adverse effect on animals’ health as well as growth in body He said, study on blood samples, change in hormones in the body and other parameters in animals was conducted during research study, which revealed that animals prefer  to hear flute music as compared to guitar, harmonium and ‘Tabla’ Information reveals, according to  economic and social survey, Haryana was identified as state having highest production and per capita  availability of milk, curd and milk products in the  country because of people residing in rural as well as urban areas, especially young generation residing in rural areas losing interest in agriculture farming since past few years now inclined towards dairy farming as a result Haryana having 2.75 crore population has been able to get status as the highest milk producing state on national level having an average 800-900 gm per capita milk consumption five years ago has now been increased to 1142 gm  as compared to the neighbouring Punjab state known as highest producer of milk in past years have per capita milk consumption 1132 gm at present as against national per capita milk consumption 342 gm.

The prominent reason for increased milk production in Haryana is due to increased number of dairy farms set up in rural areas in Haryana state in past few years when people involved in agriculture farming switched over to dairy farming for better financial gains on which state government is also providing attractive beneficial schemes as well as subsidies to the farmers. Information reveals, nearly eight lakh people in Haryana state are involved in the profession of dairy farming having population over 70 lakh milk producing animals. Recently, Haryana chief minister Manohar Lal Khatter told media persons that Animal Disease Diagnostic centres are being st up by the state government at Hisar, Sonepat and Panchkula to save animals from diseases, besides opening two Research Laboratories and three Bio-Safety Research Centres in the state shortly.
