PANIPAT/CHANDIGARH (SATISH HANDA): Special Investigation Agency at Panipat busted two gangs involved in selling anti-viral ‘Remdesivir’ injections for the treatment of carona disease in black market. Inspector Anil Chhiller told media persons that on a information that a youth selling ‘Remdesivir’ injections used for treatment of Carona virus at Ram Lal Chowk at much higher prices and during police raid along with Drug Control Officer Vijay Raje arrested a youth identified as Imran resident of Babarpur Mandi working as Area Manager with Lal’s Path Laboratory while selling injection at the rate Rs 20000 each against maximum retail price Rs 5400 each. Police recovered three injections from the bag he was carrying. During preliminary investigation, Imran told that he had brought injections from Manoj running a medical shop in the name of Saini Medical Store outside Ravindra Hospital in Model Town area Panipat. Both were produced in the court and remanded to police custody. Both failed to produce any purchase bill or license to sell pharmaceuticals.
In another raid, police arrested a graduate youth identified as Himanshu resident of Shiv Nagar Panipat running a general merchandize shop while selling ‘Remdesivir’ injections in a car selling at the price of Rs 30000 each. During search police recovered 10 injections from a bag in the car. Police arrested the youth, seized all injections and impounded car.
Meanwhile, Manoj Yadav DGP Haryana police has warned residents in the state to beware of Cyber cheats active on OLX, Face Book, Instagram giving fake advertisements for the sale of ‘Remdesive’ injections for the treatment of Carona virus, oxygen cylinder and other life saving drugs. DGP said that according to information such cheats have already cheated several persons in Haryana as well as adjoining Rajasthan and U.P states alerting to beware of online black marketing of life saving drugs and in case of any such cheating inform police headquarter at Panchkula.
