Congress, INLD leaders accuse government neglect to fight COVID

 Both HPCC president Shelja along with Congress convener Vivek Bansal while talking to media persons raised a question over ruling government in Haryana state made no preparations to fight Corona epidemic outbreak in past one year as a result situation became bad to worst during present second wave of disease spread claiming large number of lives in the state especially in rural areas. She said, it is duty of every political party workers join hands with the government to control fast spreading disease, save people at this stage and they cannot be left at the mercy of government failed to control situation at right time. She said, Congress has constituted COVID Relief Committees at Karnal, Kaithal, Fatehabad and Mohindergarh to provide relief to suffering patients.

Pointing at the village Titli in Rohtak district, Congress convener Bansal blamed both Prime Minister Narender Modi and Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khatter saying that in case ruling government had made preparations in past one year country as well as the state would have been saved from present disaster. Expressing concern over the death of two persons including a woman reported at village Titoli in past couple of days where the total number of deaths in the area reaches nearly 70 so far since after January 1. 2021, which include 17 deaths reported in the month May this year. He expressed deep concern over the crowd of more than 100 persons attended funeral processions violating guidelines and most of them were suspected Corona positive but no action was taken by the police as well as administration in this regard. Bansal said, district health department team during Corona testing of 76 suspected persons at village Titoli detected seven of them Corona positive this week.

Shelja said, the number of Corona positive cases in Haryana state in urban as well as rural  areas is fast increasing and there are inadequate arrangements for Corona tests as well as test reports being delayed for several days, more over there are limited arrangement for vaccination in rural areas and there is immediate need to improve medical infrastructure in such rural areas in the state lacking treatment facilities in government health centres having shortage of medicines as well as ordinary and oxygen beds as such large number of patients are forced to admit at costly private hospitals, being referred to hospitals in districts and most of them losing their lives. She said availability of life saving drugs and oxygen is basic right of every citizen demanding that government should make provision for vaccination of everyone. Meanwhile, Former Chief Minister Haryana Om Parkash Chautala said that people in the state need not to depend on ruling government and should take care of their safety themselves. He also released an audio message making appeal not to come out of their houses during lock down because government is unable to control present epidemic outbreak in the state and provide treatment to patients suffering from Corona virus.

BJP State convener Praveen Attre said that leaders of political parties in opposition should aoid leg pulling at this critical stage and support government for the welfare of suffering people. He said, government is trying its best to provide help and treatment to everyone. Meanwhile, Haryana Home Minister Anil Vij said, efforts are being made to stop black marketing of life saving drugs as well as oxygen and those involved in black marketing in the state will not be spared at any cost. He disclosed that police has already arrested more than 45 persons in past few days.

A survey  conducted in Ambala, Karnal, Kaithal, Panipat, Hisar, Jhajjar, Fsatehabad , Rohtak, Jind and Sirsa districts revealed , there are Primary Health Centres (PHC) and Community Health centres (CHC) all over in rural areas in Haryana state but most of these health centres are lacking necessary infrastructure due to shortage of doctors, nursing and para-medical staff since most of them including doctors has been shifted on special duty in government as well as private COVID hospitals in the district.
