Farmers agitation has taken political shape: Dushyant Chautala

-SATISH HANDA

Pointing at farmers agitation going on since past about seven months Haryana Deputy Chief Minister Dushyant Chautala while talking to media persons said this agitation has now taken the shape of a political agitation by the leaders of few farmers groups for their self-vested interests few of them willing to contest next polls and the agitation is being supported by the leaders of political parties in opposition wiped out from the state in past now dreaming to come to power again with the help of hand full of farmer leaders trying to disturb peace in the state at the cost of innocent farmers working in agriculture fields round the clock to earn both end meals for their families.

Chautala was seen harsh towards such farmer leaders similar to Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khatter and Home Minister Anil Vij over few incidents reported at Hisar, Tohana and Jhajjar in Haryana state in recent past in which  violent activities took place by the agitators attempted to take law and order in their hand which indicates involvement of political parties in farmer protests. Both Chief Minister and Home Minister warned strict action against those involved in violent activities. In reply to a  media question Chautala said, he is also a farmer and three agriculture laws introduced by the government are for the welfare of farmers and increase their income but a handful of farmer leaders under the influence of political parties misguiding them for self-vested interest and their prime mission is to oppose BJP-JJP alliance government in Haryana state and spread violence under a conspiracy indicating that it is not a farmers agitation but a political agitation against ruling government. Chautala said, those involved in violent activities will no be spared at any cost.

Meanwhile, President of Bhartiya Kisan Union Gurnam Singh Chanduni on the recent incident at Jhajjar where foundation stone laid for BJP office was damaged by the agitated farmers same day warned police not to investigate the matter and arrest alleged accuse otherwise ‘Kisan Agitation’ in the state will become similar to ‘Jaat Agitation’ witnessed in the state in past years.
