Leading industrialist alleged involved in frauds in police net

AMBALA (SATISH HANDA): Managing Director of famous Naraingarh Sugar Mill at Banodi in Shazadpur block  in Ambala district Rahul Anand allegedly involved in several embezzlements in business worth crores of rupees was arrested by Economic Crime Branch of Haryana police  on the location of his mobile phone traced by Police Cyber Cell from a hotel at Mussurie in Uttaranchal where he went to attend a function. Police in search of Anand had conducted several raids for his arrest at different places in Haryana, Punjab, Uttaranchal and Delhi by joint teams of CIA Staff and Economic Crime Branch and finally succeeded in arresting him. According to information Naraingarh Sugar Mills has always been in controversy every year for one reason or other and delaying huge payments against sugarcane purchased from farmers holding protests outside the mill every year and district administration had to intervene into matter.

A case was registered by Shahzadpur police station against managing director of sugar mill under sections 120B, 406, 468, 371, 409, 429 IPC on the complaints of Manager of Central Cooperative Bank on December 21, 2021  . Anand was remanded to police custody for eight days by the court. According to police information, the alleged accuse was involved in large number of embezzlements in alliance with several fake firms caused heavy revenue loss to the government, farmers supplied sugarcane, suppliers as well as embezzlements and fake purchases in the sugar mill due to illicit business activities, false purchases, expenses and business transactions  by the mill during financial year 2014-15, 2015-16, 2016-17 and 2017-18. According to Economic Crime Branch team alleged accuse is bveing taken to Delhi, Amritsar, Chandigarh and Nagpur for investigation in the case.
