Chief Minister’s face will be decided by voters in Punjab not by high command: Navjot Sidhu

Talking to media persons at Chandigarh, Punjab Congress President Navjot Singh Sidhu raising a question on Punjab government in the state as well as his own party high command said that next chief minister in Punjab will be decided only by the voters not by party’s high command. Sidhu raising question over Punjab model said that mafia model presently ruling over in the state and his own future, too, is dependent on Punjab model.

Sidhu said, matter has already been discussed by him with party’s General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi Wadra and Punjab model will also be included in party’s poll manifesto in coming Vidhan Sabha elections, although Sidhu refused to comment anything as regard action taken by him in case Congress ignores to include his model in coming Vidhan Sabha poll manifesto.

Sidhu said, Punjab state government may stand on its own feet with the help of its model earning revenue worth Rs 50000 core every year with the efforts to stop thefts in various sectors including liquor manufacturing industry, stop illegal mining of sand and stone, transport industry, cable regulatory and out door advertising sector in the state which may help to earn handsome revenue and inject financial energy in the arms of Punjab government.

Raising question over ruling government in Punjab for change in policies as regard transport services, illegal mining of sand and stone going on and illegal distilleries involved in manufacturing illicit liquor at places in the state. Sidhu said all these irregularities are causing heavy financial dent on the economic growth in the state and heavy revenue loss to government  worth Rs 4000-5000 crore every year. He said, privatization policy adopted by the government will bring no relief on economic condition of government in the state except outsourcing the brain to others and sharing revenue in private hands.
