Subros resumes full supply to Maruti Suzuki

NEW DELHI: Auto component maker Subros Ltd, which had to halt production at its Manesar plant after a fire broke out last month, today said it has resumed full supplies to Maruti Suzuki India (MSI) from the company’s other facilities in Noida, Pune and Chennai.

“Further, the company is working on fast-track basis to re-build the Manesar facilities so as to commence production in phased manner,” it said. The company has reinstated full supplies to MSI from the it’s other plants at Noida, Pune and Chennai, Subros Ltd said in a regulatory filing.

On May 29, a major fire broke at the Manesar plant of Subros which took more than three hours to douse. There were no reports of casualty. The fire incident led MSI to temporarily suspend production at its Guragaon and Manesar facilities. The carmaker also advanced its bi-annual weekly maintenance closure to offset the impact on production. On an average MSI produces around 5,000 units a day from its two plants at Gurgaon and Manesar, which together have an annually capacity of rolling out 15 lakh units.–PTI
