Absconding female drug smuggler arrested after 20 days

AMBALA (Satish Handa): Sadar police station Ambala Cantt succeeded in arresting a female drug smuggler, supplier Guddi a resident of Deha Colony Ambala Cantt and wife of a former municipal councillor Rajesh in drugs business along with son since a long time. She along with her associates attacked police party went to her residence on April 6, 2022 in a case registered against her under NDPS Act after police arrested a youth near Netaji Subhash Park Ambala Cantt from him police recovered heroine. During investigation youth disclosed that he had purchased drugs from Guddi. When police team went for her arrest and conducted raid at the godown illegally built on encroached government land adjoining her residence (which was demolished by municipal committee Ambala Cantt after the incident) was attacked and in the meantime she managed to flee along with gold & silver jewellery, cash and stocks of drugs in her car. However, police arrested her husband Rajesh and son Prince also involved in drugs business since both were involved in attack on police.

Naresh Kumar SHO Sadar police station Ambala Cantt told that search for the arrest of absconding Guddi started soon after she was found absconding and police teams conducted raids at several places in Haryana and Punjab for her arrest but failed to find any clue about her for about 20 days. However, Guddi was trapped in police net after 20 days when police on a clue raided a narrow street at Topkhana adjoining cantonment area and arrested her. A case was registered against Guddi under NDPS Act and she was remanded to police custody for four days by the court on April 26.

According to police information, Guddi was having as many as 10 cases registered against her in different police stations at Ambala including Sadar Police Station, Parao Police Station, Mahesh Nagar police Station and Saha Police Station.  She was acquitted by the court in a case registered against her in 2016 under NDPS Act and was declared offender by court in another case against her registered in 2017. Investigation revealed that Guddi was smuggling drugs from Delhi and she was arrested during checking at GT Road near Parao Police Station in 2021 when she was returning from Delhi in her car carrying stocks of drugs procured from Delhi. A case was also registered against her at Mahesh Nagar Police Station when a navy employee was admitted to hospital after taking drugs supplied by her.
