Mohali :  Thalassemia week was celebrated in Gian Jyoti Institute of Management & Technology on Friday 13th May 2022  .Theme was – Be Aware, Share, Care: Working with global community to increase knowledge under the umbrella of Red Ribbon/NSS/NCC unit Gian Jyoti Institute of Management & Technology , Mohali.
Chief Guests Dr.Sunita, Joint Director Blood Transfusion Cell & Lab services, Punjab Aids Control Society, Dr. Rupinder Kaur State Blood Cell Coordinator Blood Services, National Health Commission and Rupinder Kaur, Asst Director Youth Services, Mohali along with Honourable Chairman of Gian Jyoti Institute of Management & Technology,  J S Bedi inaugurated the event.
A Free Medical Checkup Camp initiated by KAPSONS (Kanya) was organized in association with Fortis Hospital. A team of doctors and consultants visited and provided Free OPD consultation, Dietary consultation, Physician and Gynae consultation, Random Blood Sugar, Blood Pressure and ECG test.
Youth from age 18 to 25 participated actively. The staff members and outsiders took the benefit of free consultation and other services during the camp. Overall 300 participants showed up and made the camp successful. A seminar was held in which Dr. Sunita spreaded awareness regarding Thalassemia , Govt. Policies & Aids provided and also the financial support by the Government.
