RTA ASI moves writ to become witness against SDM arrested in bribery case

RTA ASI Jaspal Singh arrested by State Vigilance Bureau has now moved a writ in the court to become witness in the case registered against Sub Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Kaithal in Haryana Amrinder Singh arrested by State Vigilance Bureau allegedly involved in corruption accepting bribe from drivers of overloaded vehicles plying on roads when he was also having additional charge of District Transport Officer Ambala.  During preliminary investigation by vigilance department team Jaspal Singh said that duting checking he used to collect money from drivers of overloaded vehicles on roads as desired by Amrinder Singh SDM and was unable to disobey his instructions. However, advocate of SDM facing corruption charges against him denied allegations made by ASI as untrue made under a conspiracy against his client.

State Vigilance Bureau had conducted raid and arrested Jaspal Singh ASI while accepting bribe from overloaded vehicles during surprise checking on road by SDM also having additional charge of DTO and registered a corruption case against them on the complaint of a Kaithal transporter Dev Raj allegedly both involved in collecting bribe from overloaded vehicles during checking disclosing that those overloaded vehicles carrying ‘Fresh Food’ sticker affixed in front of their vehicles were not stopped for checking by the team.

Vigilance department team arrested Amrinder Singh SDM Kaithal near Toll Plaza at Saini Majra when his car rammed into another ‘Inova’ car while attempting to flee and caught by large number of angry persons gathered at the spot including Toll Plaza employees and damaged, broken glasses of SDM’s car. Meanwhile, police arrived at the spot arrested Amrinder Singh SDM driving the vehicle. The entire episode was recorded in CCTV cameras installed at Toll Plaza and footage of the same was collected by the police. Police also took into possession SDM’s car and his mobile phone.During investigation by State Vigilance Bureau, while conducting raid at the residence of Aminder Singh SDM, police recovered four luxury cars, three of these were registered in the names of his family members. Information revealed, Amrinder Singh joined service in Haryana as Naib Tehsildar in 2003 and gradually promoted as SDM. He earned maximum amount as bribe during services especially when having additional charge of DTO and vigilance department is going to have a check over his bank accounts
