A study reveals, youths in search of jobs in Haryana state finding maximum number of employment opportunities in micro and small industry. Information also reveals that micro and small industry at Faridabad and Gurugram has offered employment to large number of youths in the state followed by Panipat and Karnal districts, whereas poor response has been seen in Nuh, Mohindergarh, Palwal and Bhiwani districts in Haryana state.
Haryana state has been identified far ahead having maximum number of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) units as compared to adjoining states Punjab and Himachal Pradesh. According to information by MSME Haryana office at Karnal there are as many as 622 MSME units operating in Haryana as against one lakh population whereas state government aims to set up 1233 MSME units in the state against one lakh population and out of total number of 22 districts across the state 11 districts are yet in red zone. Information reveals, there are total numbers of nearly 9.70 lakh MSME units working in Haryana state and most of these are manufacturing automobile products, textile goods, food products, engineering instruments and metallic components.
During financial year 2021-22 nearly 66767 MSME units were set up in Haryana providing employment to nearly 3.36 lakh youths which include maximum number of 66442 micro units, 318 small units and 7 medium level units. Information also reveals, during year 2021-22 total number of 46519 MSME units which include 46366 micro, 144 small and 9 medium level units were set up in Punjab state, 12460 units were set up in Himachal Pradesh which include 12394 micro, 63 small and 3 medium level units. Similarly, 2657 MSME units were set up at Chandigarh UT in this period which included 2648 micro and 9 small units. According to Industry Department Haryana state, government has fixed a target to create jobs for five lakh youths as well as hundred percent growth in exports in new industry policy..
According to data available with MSME department, as against one lakh population the number of district wise MSME units has been identified as 2019 units at Gurugram, 1770 units at Faridabad, 1752 units at Panipat, 1058 units at Panchkula, 1044 units at Karnal, 852 units at Ambala, 830 units at Yamunanagar, 822 units at Kaithal, 707 units at Kurukshetra, 601 units at Jind, 579 units at Rohtak, 566 units at Fatehabad, 558 units at Jhajjar, 547 units at Hisar & Sirsa, 536 units at Rewari 450 units at Bhiwani, 338 units at Palwal, 298 units at Mohindergarh and 202 units at Nuh.
