38 kg heroine being transported from Gujarat seized in Punjab, two arrested

Preliminary investigation by Punjab police reveals that 38 kg heroine recovered from a truck recently at Nawanshehar in Punjab was smuggled by Sonu alias Rajesh Kumar against whom a case has been registered and it was discovered that his passport was prepared at Fatehabad in Haryana on a fake Tohana address.  DGP Punjab Gaurav Yadav told that on the basis of fake passport Sonu Khatri went to Ajrina and Brazil from where now supplying drugs in Punjab and other adjoining states via Gujarat. He told that a police team has been sent to Fatehabd to investigate fake Tohana address of alleged accuse on his passport.

Information reveals, it was found that nearly 70 passports were prepared in Fatehabad district in Haryana state in a period of three years during 2018 and 2021 on the basis of fake documents and many of these passports were having fake addresses from Tohana and other places in the district many of the them issued to anti-social elements not residing in the district and few were issued to gangsters which are now on National Investigation Agency  (NIA) radar. Investigation reveals that gangsters including Ranjeet alias Cheeta arrested  near Atari border with 578 kg heroine, Ravi a close associate of  gangster Jaish Mohd,  gangster Kala Rana and Mandeep alias Meena  from Jalandhar having more than 24 cases registered against him in Punjab state besides a long list of other criminals found got prepared their passports on the basis of fake documents at Fatehabad.

Preliminary investigation reveals that 38 kg heroine recently seized by Punjab police at Nawanshehar was collected from Mundra port in Gujarat state, which has become a prime centre for delivery of drugs being smuggled from other countries. According to DGP Punjab a police team is been sent to Mundra port in Gujarat to investigate this fast increasing illegal business for supply of drugs in Punjab, Haryana and other adjoining states.
