An inter-state drug smuggler held along with 2 Kg of heroin, Rs. 5 lac drug money

Amritsar, September 1 -Amritsar-Rural police arrested an interstate drug dealer carrying a part of consignment of 126 Kg heroin, which was delivered to a fisherman at Dwarka port, who owned a small fishing boat. Punjab Police  has recovered 2 Kg of heroin and nearly five lac of drug money from his possession”, said Swapan Sharma, SSP, Amritsar-Rural.

Arrested accused was identified as Gurjant Singh s a resident of Patti, Tarn Taran, who was arrested by the special unit of Amritsar-Rural police while he was going to deliver the drug consignment of 2kg of heroin by  a swift car bearing registeration no. PB46-AG-7888 and two mobiles were also recovered from his car.

The operation carried out by a special unit on a tip-off .The S.S.P said that this recovered heroin is a part of the case of 126 kg of heroin delivered at Dwarka sea-port by a Pakistani drug smuggler named Sikander resident of Lahore to a fisherman named Ameen and was arrested by ATS Gujrat from Ahmedabad Railway Station.

Devulging more detail, “ S.S.P said , earlier police has detained several persons for the questioning after getting inputs from intelligence and further, through and deep Investigations are going on after arresting Gurjant of Patti, Tarn-Taran and we are working on further leads, said the S.S.P. to unearth the others involved in this case and wanted by the ATS Gujrat.
